Amaira Dhumatker capped her brilliant campaign at the Yonex-Sunrise 4th Mini (U-11) National Badminton Championships 2025 with a historic bronze medal in Girls U11 Singles — Goa’s first singles medal at the Nationals in many years.
After a gritty quarterfinal win over Andhra Pradesh’s Sri Adhya Reddy Kaduluri (17-21, 21-17, 21-15), Amaira fought hard in the semifinals before going down to Telangana’s Saina Sharma 21-23, 9-21. In doubles, she and Komal Kothari pushed Tamil Nadu’s Iniyasri M. and Kavanya Jothi N.P. to three games in the quarterfinals.
GBA President Manoj Patil hailed Amaira’s feat as a landmark moment for Goan badminton, calling her medal “a proud and long-awaited achievement for the state.”
GBA Secretary Praveen Shenoy praised her as “one of Goa’s brightest young prospects and a tremendous hope for the future,” applauding her consistency and fighting spirit throughout the tournament.
