Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the 6th Manohar Parrikar Vidnyan Mahotsav organised by Department of Science ,Technology & Waste Management at NIO auditorium, Dona Paula.
The Chief Minister presented Manohar Parrikar Yuva Scientist Award 2024 to Dr. Mohit Kumar Jolly from Department of Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, on the occasion.
Dr Anil Kakodkar, former Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission, Prof. Habil Lucyna Wozniak, HoD of Medical Biology & Structural Biology, Medical University of Lodz-Poland, also graced the occasion.
As part of the 6th Manohar Parrikar Vidnyan Mahotsav, programmes are being held across the state with distinguished scientists from various parts of the country guiding the budding Goan students towards inculcating deep interest in Science.
Director of Department of Science,Technology & Waste Management, Ankit Yadav, IAS, was also present among others.
Earlier, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant along with WRD Minister, Subhash Shirodkar, Law & Judiciary Minister, Aleixo Sequeira, Collector North, Dr. Sneha Gitte, IAS, paid homage to former Chief Minister, Padma Bhushan late Manohar Parrikar. The Chief Minister also inaugurated a photo exhibition on the life and work of ex-Defence Minister Parrikar.
