Chandan Caro and Akash Pal emerged triumphant in the Junior and Senior Open Singles categories, at the 6th MSC Cup All India Invitational Table Tennis Tournament, at Peddem.
In the team events, Kolhapur Paddlers emerged winners in the junior team event while Bengal Express walked away with the seniors’ championship. The annual MSC Cup was organised by Miramar Sports Club, in collaboration with Sports Authority of Goa.
In the junior open category, the title clash between the two rising talents from Goa, Chandan Caro and Atharv Dhulapkar kept the spectators on the edge of their seats. In a nail-biting encounter, Chandan Caro emerged victorious, defeating Atharv Dhulapkar 3-2. Both players exhibited remarkable skills and sportsmanship throughout the match, showcasing the immense potential of the upcoming generation of Goan table tennis players.
The seniors event saw a dominant performance by the in-form India ranked player Akash Pal, who triumphed over his Bengal colleague Aniket Sen in a commanding fashion 3-0. Akash Pal’s exceptional display of skill and precision left the audience in awe, solidifying his position as a formidable force in the senior category. Akash had earlier this year defeated Commonwealth gold-medallist Achanta Sharath Kamal at the All India Ranking tournament in January. In the final here, he once again showed his potential as a formidable rising force.
The Junior Team Championship final was an enthralling contest between Kolhapur Paddlers and Dynamic Warriors (Goa). In an intense battle, Kolhapur Paddlers emerged victorious with a score of 3-1. The Senior Team Championship witnessed a dominant performance by Bengal Express, who claimed a resounding victory of 3-0 against Dynamic Warriors (Goa). The Bengal Express comprised top India ranked players such as former National champion Arjun Ghosh, Aniket Sen, Akash Pal, and Abhimanyu.
Adarsh Toraskar, Sports promoter, Sandeep Heble, Secretary, Goa Badminton Association, and Miramar Sports Club officials Joel Andrade (President), Myron Pereira (Treasurer) and Noel Estibeiro (Vice President) graced the finals among others.

Senior Team Championship – Bengal Express beat Dynamic Warriors 3-0(Akash Pal beat Arvind Kumar 3-0; Aniket Sen beat Jigar Saravaiya 3-0; Abhimanyu / Akash Pal beat Dhruva Kamat / Arvind Kumar 3-0).
