PANAJI: Top national paddlers Sourav Saha and Arjun Ghosh stormed into the Open Singles quarter-finals with clinical performances, on the penultimate day of the 5th All-India Invitational MSC Cup Table Tennis championship at multipurpose stadium, Peddem sports complex.
The championship, organised by Miramar Sports Club in collaboration with Sports Authority of Goa, enters its final day on Tuesday, with Team championship as well as Individual finals scheduled 3.30pm. onwards.
Aadi Chitnis, Ali Mohammad, Arindam Debna, Jayesh Kulkarni, Swarnendu Chowdhury and Surojit Das were others to join Sourav and Arjun into the last-eight stage.
Meanwhile, in the Under-15 Open category, Ayushi Godse registered a comfortable 3-0 win over Tanishka Kalbhairav to enter the final where she will be up against Goa’s Khushal Naik.
Khushal defeated his fellow Goan paddler Darren Duarte with 3 – 0 scoreline. Earlier in the Open U-15 quarter-finals, Tanishka Kalbhairav beat Rishan shaikh 3 – 0, Ayrshire Godse beat Atharv Dhulapkar 3 -1, Khushal Naik beat Mritheya 3 – 2 and Darren Duarte beat Neeza Kamat 3 -1.
