Goa are closing in on their first victory of the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy Elite season after putting themselves in a commanding position against Bihar in their Group A encounter at the Panjim Gymkhana ground, Campal.
After posting 397 in their first innings, Goa bowled out Bihar for a paltry 107 and enforced the follow-on. At stumps on the second day, Bihar were struggling at 63 for 3 in their second innings, still trailing Goa by 227 runs with seven wickets in hand. Goa will look to wrap up the match on the third day on Wednesday.
Resuming their first innings at 288 for 6, Goa added another 109 runs to their overnight total. Senior batter Snehal Kauthankar remained unbeaten on 178, striking 17 boundaries, while all-rounder Darshan Misal contributed a valuable 53.
In reply, Bihar’s batting line-up failed to withstand Goa’s bowling attack. Fast bowler Vasuki Koushik led the charge with an impressive spell of 3 for 12, while off-spinner Yash Kasvankar also claimed three wickets, conceding 46 runs. Ruthvik Naik, Heramb Parab and Lalit Yadav picked up a wicket each as Bihar were dismissed for 107, conceding a massive 290-run first-innings lead.
Goa captain Abhinav Tejrana enforced the follow-on. Bihar began their second innings on a relatively positive note, but Goa struck back to strengthen their grip on the match. Kasvankar dismissed the well-settled Ayush Loharuka, who scored 47, before Lalit Yadav bowled Khalid Alam for 11 to leave Bihar at 63 for 3 at the close.
