THE PEACOCK: ENTERTAINMENT SOCIETY OF GOA’S MAGAZINE SHOULD NOT BE RESTRICTED TO GOA, SAYS DAMODAR MAUZO

PANAJI: Entertainment Society of Goa launched its quarterly magazine ‘The Peacock’ at the hands of celebrated writer Damodar Mauzo, Jnanpith and Sahitya Akademi Award winner; here on Thursday.

Sachin Chatte, Vivek Menezes, Jose Lourenco, Impana Kulkarni, Amruta Patil and Assavri Kulkarni among others, graced the event at the Maquinez Palace.

Addressing the gathering, Damodar Mauzo expressed his joy over the quality output in the form of The Peacock’s inaugural edition which he termed as the literary landscape magazine of Goa.

“I hope that the Entertainment Society of Goa does not restrict the magazine to Goa. I hope they make an effort to take it beyond the boundaries into the rest of the country,” said Mauzo, who also felt relieved that lot of interest has been created in the art and literature space now and tourists will be able to understand the cultural ethos of Goa.

The Peacock, which in the past was popularly published during IFFI since 2015, will be available at various book stores in Panaji and other parts of Goa.
