Government College Quepem (GCQ) emerged winners both in the Men as well as Women category at the Inter collegiate Cross-Country Championship organised by Goa University.
Top six men and women are selected from the said race for the all India Inter University Cross-Country Championship. Out of twelwe, five selected athletes for the Nationals, are from Govt. College Quepem.
The Cross-Country competition was held at Goa University on 19th August 2023, wherein more than 250 participants took part from various colleges of Goa in the 10km race both in men as well women category, which was held at Goa University campus. Around 28 colleges took part in the said championship.
Team Championship (Men): 1st Place: Govt College Quepem; 2nd Place- MES College Vasco; 3rd Place Don Bosco College Panjim.
Team Championship (Women): 1st Place –Govt college Quepem; 2nd Place – Rosary college Navelim; 3rd Place: – Mallikarjun Canacona.
Individual medal-winners (Men): 1st place: Santosh Yedge, GMFC; 2nd place: Milfred Peixote, Govt College Quepem; 3rd place: Parasharam Ghadi, Govt College Quepem. (Women): 1st place: Ayan Soares, Rosary College Navelim; 2nd place: Siya Naik, Govt. College Quepem; 3rd place: Ankita Gaonkar, Govt. College Quepem.
GCQ Men’s Team: Parasharam Ghadi, Milfort Peixote, Sidhant Gaonkar, Shaiesh Gaonkar, Swapnil Raikar and Pravin Gaonkar.
GCQ Women’s Team: Ankita Gaonkar, Siya Naik, Ankita Velip, Pratiksha Velip, Damini Tate and Chaya Patil.
