The Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications- Government of Goa; celebrated ‘National Startup Day’ on Tuesday (16th January) by hosting day-long programme including felicitation of successful startups from the state.
The initiative to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship and promote achievements of Indian startups, encapsulated the insights of the Corporates with respect to the opportunities and inroads made by the startups in the Startup Corporate Bridge panel discussion.
A workshop titled ‘Acing Your Business Model – Crafting Your Canvas’ by Vaniya Dangwal of Headstart; guided the startups on the key aspects. Sachin Karnik conducted a masterclass on ‘Fundrasing Mastery :Tactics, Tools & Strategies’ that enlightened the gathering of startups on various essential components of drawing the investors.
The Founders Club (Episode 6) panel discussion titled ‘Catalysts of Change: ‘Startups Role in Nation Building’ deliberated on the successful startups and their impact in general. Moreover, it also put the spotlight on development and support for Goan startups. Appalla Saikiran, Founder & CEO of Scope App; Sachin Karnik of The Great Unicorn Hunt; Dr Anil Wali of BITS BioCyTiH Foundation; Swati Salgaocar of CII Goa, Dr Sriram Natarajan of Molbio Diagnostics Pvt Ltd, Samarth Kholkar of B-Live, Gautami Raikar of Attort Legal Consultancy, participated in the panel discussion, which was moderated by Harshvardhan Bhatkuly.
An MoU was signed between the IT Department and HDFC Bank, with the aim of advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals through startup support and awareness programmes. HDFC has committed Rs. 99 lakh for this initiative.
IT Minister Rohan Khaunte was the chief guest and felicitated the startups along with other dignitaries including Bicholim MLA, Dr Chandrakant Shetye.
The Goa Startup Digest – a compilation of success stories from Goa, was also released on the occasion.
