Entertainment Society of Goa’s Cinephile Film Club has announced the resumption of regular (weekly) film screenings from  Thursday (18th January) at Maquinez Palace, Old GMC Complex-Panaji.

Renowned film expert Sachin Chatte will be the host at the screening of the Alfred Hitchcock classic, The Lady Vanishes (1938, 97 mins) tomorrow at 6.30 pm.

This film was a big breakthrough in Hitchcock’s illustrious career. Starring Margaret Lockwood and Michael Redgrave, this mystery thriller with a touch of Hitchcock’s staple humour, has a young lady who discovers that an elderly fellow passenger has gone missing from the train.

‘The Guardian’ called the film “one of the greatest train movies from the genre’s golden era”, and a contender for the “title of best comedy thriller ever made”. The screening is free for members of the club and Rs.120 for non-members.

For membership and other details, contact the venue in-charge before the screening.
