Goa’s inland waterways commute will not be same anymore as the Government of Goa’s highly-anticipated Ro-Ro Ferry service is set to begin on Ribandar-Chorao route in Tiswadi taluka from Monday.

River Navigation Department Minister, Subhash Phal Dessai along with RND officials inspected the Ro-Ro Ferry operations and addressed the media while the ferry ‘Dwarka 7’ cruised on the river.

Phal Dessai vouched for the state of the art riverine mobility, combining advanced engineering and user-centric amenities.

Vijai Marine Shipyards, who are the pioneering Ro-Ro ferry-makers based in Goa, have built the two Ro-Ro ferries at a total cost of Rs 25 Crores. LiveNewsGoaTV caught up with Managing Director Suraj Dialani.

About the Ro-Ro Ferry:

Spanning 35 metres in length and 13 metres in breadth, the Ferry offers a spacious stable platform; powered by an 800 BHP engine, it stands as the largest and fastest in its class. The Ferry incorporates remote-controlled ramps and an integrated system of signal lights to support safe navigation and docking. The vessel features a shallow draft of just 1.2 metres allowing seamless navigation in Goa’s rivers.
