Rupchandra Humraskar will face Filipe Barbosa in the Men’s Singles 60+ final, while Cancio Mascarenhas will meet Ravindranath Uchil in the Men’s Singles 65+ final at the BPS State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025.
Organised by BPS Sports Club, Margao in collaboration with the Goa Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa, the tournament at Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim on Friday, 03 October 2025 has seen intense qualifying and early-round action in the open Men’s Singles.
In Qualification Round 2, Yash Desai defeated Chirag Mahale 15-5, 15-11 and Aswin Mannambalath overcame Owais Tahasildar 15-9, 17-15; Aswin had earlier beaten Mohammad Nadaf 15-11, 15-10 in R1. Other notable winners who progressed included Mihir Desai (def. Shubham Swami 15-13, 10-15, 17-15), Sarvadnya Khandeparkar (def. Siddharth Hazra 15-13, 15-7), Kamesh Naik (def. Viveknath Gawas 16-14, 11-15, 15-13) and Sparsh Kolwalkar (def. Om Kunkolienkar 15-13, 15-10).
The veterans’ draws produced clinical performances as the top players lived up to expectations: in the Men’s 60+ semifinals Rupchandra Humraskar (1) defeated Cholu Gauns 21-7, 21-4 while Filipe Barbosa beat Albert Jaques 21-12, 21-7 to set up their final; in the Men’s 65+ semifinals Cancio Mascarenhas (1) overcame Deepak Salaskar 21-11, 21-15 and Ravindranath Uchil downed Meghasham Sawant 21-9, 21-8.
