MAPUSA: Sirvodem SC cruised to title triumph at GFA Vedanta Women’s League amassing 22 points in eight games while remaining unbeaten throughout the five-team competition. The South Goa-based team has now qualified for the Indian Women’s League but the club has its own battle to wage to put up a similarly strong squad due to various reasons.
Coach Girijadevi Desai and captain Nevilla Colaco spoke to www.livenewsgoa.com after receiving the trophy from CM Dr Pramod Sawant in the presence of GFA president & MLA Churchill Alemao, MLA Joshua D’Souza and President of Vedanta Sports, Annanya Agarwal among others.
Meanwhile, FC Goa finished runners-up (19 points), FC YFA (12 points) third, Goa United Sports Academy fourth (6 points) and Compassion FC fifth.
Among individual award winners were Stacy Cardozo (FC Goa) – Golden Boot, Rima Gadekar (Sirvodem SC) – Golden Glove, Anrette Da’Costa (Futebol Club YFA) – Golden Ball, Vinoshka (Sirvodem SC) – promising player.
