GOA TOURISM WELCOMES DELEGATION FROM ALMATY

Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, warmly welcomed a delegation of 12 guests from Almaty, Kazakhstan, at Paryatan Bhavan, Panaji as part of their eight-day visit to the state. The visitors were received with flowers in a traditional gesture of Goan hospitality, reflecting the state’s commitment to creating meaningful and memorable travel experiences.

Present to receive the delegation were Jayesh Kankonkar, Assistant Director (Tourism); Deepak Narvekar, Deputy General Manager (Marketing), Goa Tourism Development Corporation; Chitra Vengurlekar, Assistant Tourist Officer; Pravin Phaldesai, Senior Manager, GTDC along with officials from the Department of Tourism.

The delegation was brought to Goa by Caper Travel and representatives present included Executive Director, Abida Kumar, and Senior Vice President – Goa Charters, Egbert Dias.

Minister for Tourism, Rohan A. Khaunte, stated that Goa values emerging international markets and continues to strengthen its global outreach. Such visits play an important role in fostering deeper engagement, building confidence among travellers, and showcasing the diverse experiences the State offers. He further emphasised that the Government remains focused on ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment for every visitor.

Director of Tourism, Kedar Naik, said, “We are pleased to welcome our guests from Almaty and look forward to building stronger tourism ties with Kazakhstan through such meaningful interactions.”

As part of the interaction, Senior Manager, GTDC, Pravin Phaldesai delivered a detailed presentation highlighting Goa’s varied tourism offerings. The presentation covered the state’s cultural heritage, festivals, wellness and spiritual experiences, hinterland tourism, adventure activities, and premium hospitality, reflecting the broader vision of positioning Goa as a year-round destination.

During their stay, the guests from Almaty will explore a range of experiences across the State, gaining insight into Goa’s traditions, cuisine, and curated tourism initiatives. The delegation expressed appreciation for the warm reception and conveyed enthusiasm about discovering the many facets of Goa.

The Department of Tourism looks forward to further strengthening ties with Kazakhstan and enhancing collaborative efforts to promote Goa as a preferred international destination.
