Alchemy International, Bengaluru, FC Madras, Classic FA and Punjab booked their respective quarter final berths on Friday, the 6th day of the Dreams Sports championship-AIFF junior league in South Goa. Local team FC Goa crashed out of the tournament losing 0-1 to Classic FA of Manipur.
While Alchemy International beat Reliance Foundation easily with a 3-0 margin on the Raia grounds in the morning, FC Madras beat Corbett FC 3-1 on the Don Bosco grounds, Margao in the evening.
For Alchemy, Sahanya Sud scored twice in the 47th and 49th minute, while Atikur Rahman scored in the 85th minute. Similarly, Sarthak Bhattarai ( 3rd min), Rajesh Tatikonda ( 46th min) and TB Abhinand ( 52nd min) scored for FC Madras, while Arya Negi reduced the margin for Corbett FC in the 74th minute.
In the match against FC Goa, S Omesh Singh scored for the Classic academy in the 53rd minute, earning his team a quarterfinal berth in a morning game on the Don Bosco grounds in Margao.
In the last game of the day, Mohun Bagan and Pu0njab settled for a 0-0 draw on the Raia grounds in the evening in a fast paced, physical match, allowing Punjab to get a quarter final berth.
