GOA REVOLUTION DAY: JOB OFFER LETTERS PRESENTED TO CHILDREN OF FREEDOM FIGHTERS, FOUNDATION STONE LAID FOR NEW GOA POLICE HQ BUILDING

The Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju in the presence of Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, led the people of the state to pay homage to the martyrs at Martyrs Memorial commemorating the Goa Revolution Day, at Azad Maidan, Panaji, on Thursday.

Union Minister of State for Power, Shripad Naik , Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Chief Secretary, Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, President of the Goa Daman and Diu Freedom Fighters Association, Rohidas Ragunath Naik Desai were present.

On the occasion, job offer letters were handed over to 27 eligible candidates under the Scheme for providing Employment in Government to the Children of Freedom Fighters.

An exhibition of Archival Records on “Goa’s Struggle for Freedom”, was organised by Department of Archives in collaboration with Department of Goa Gazetter and Historical Records at Azad Maidan, Panaji.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the new Goa Police Headquarters Building at the Police Headquarters Complex in Panaji.

Dr. Sawant also flagged off 97 two-wheelers and prison vans for Goa Police to strengthen patrolling, in the presence of Chief Secretary, Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, DGP Goa, Alok Kumar, IPS, and other officials.

Marking a major milestone in strengthening the state’s cooperative infrastructure, the Government of Goa, Department of Cooperation, also moved into a new premises as “Sahakar Seva Bhavan” was inaugurated by the Chief Minister at Merces, Tiswadi.

“The new headquarters will strengthen administrative efficiency and further empower Goa’s vibrant cooperative sector comprising over 5,600 cooperative societies working across various sectors for the welfare and prosperity of people,” emphaised Dr Sawant.
