PANAJI: Indian Medical Association-Goa Chapter has hailed the contribution of USA-based Goan doctors in the battle against Covid-19 pandemic. A group of graduates of 1972 batch of Goa Medical College – comprising Dr Krishnakant Raikar, Dr Deepak Kamat, Dr Nelson D’Silva, Dr Suresh D’Mello, Dr Glynis Vashi and DrJyoti Walwalkar – donated oxygen concentrators to IMA Goa for the treatment of covid patients in the state afflicted with a high positivity rate.
The press note issued by Dr Vinayak Buvaji, president of Indian Medical Association-Goa; further stated that the oxygen concentrators, sent from Oak Brooke-Illinois, were distributed among all seven IMA branches in Goa. “It will be provided for needy in the state in present Covid pandemic and even for future use. They can be obtained from the office-bearers of seven branches on use-and-return basis. Indian Medical Association Goa Chapter whole heartedly appreciates the noble gesture by these Goan doctors in United States and expresses deepest gratitude for this timely help,” mentions the press statement.
