PANAJI: Goan swimmer Sanjana Prabhugaonker created a new meet record (UAE) at the recent APEX 1st Swimming Community Open championship in Dubai, according to a press communique issued by her father, architect Manguesh R Prabhugaonker.
Goa’s Khelo India representative Sanjana, who is 14 years old, won four gold medals and 1 silver medal in Dubai. Her performance in the 100 mts backstroke, got her into the record books as it was a new swimming record for the UAE.
Bambolim-based Sanjana, who is in Std 9th, is currently undergoing competitive training at Aqua Nation Sports Academy at Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai.
