PANAJI: Goa Olympic Association (GOA) felicitated prominent sportspersons/promoters from the sports disciplines of Weightlifting and Handball as part of the ongoing awareness and promotional programme on the sidelines of Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
At KTC Bus-stand, Panaji, the personalities related to Weightlifting were recognised for their contribution to the sport. Tanoj A. Kinalkar, Shubham R. Gauns, Ravindra Dias, Shreya S. Naik and highly-rated teenage powerlifter Archita S. Shirodkar were felicitated at the hands of Siddhesh Shripad Naik, Zilla Parishad member, North Goa.
Goa Weightlifting Association’s Xavier Fialho (President), Jayesh Naik (Secretary); GOA co-ordinators Ashwin Tombat, Chetan Kavlekar, Sandeep Heble and Nishita Pednekar; were also present.
At Agakhan park, Margao; Perpetual Pires, Afradite Mascarenhas, Shriram Naik, Hemant Parodkar and Wency Gonsalves representing/contributing to the state in the sport of Handball, were felicitated by V. M. Prabhudesai, Executive Director, SAG.
