PANAJI: Sonics-Porvorim defeated Lourdes Basketeers-Saligao 17-14 in the final to win the All-Goa 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament organised by Antruz Art & Sports Academy (AASA) in memory of Late Rajesh Kunkalekar at the Almeida High School premises in Ponda.
Shubham Singh of Lourdes was adjudged the ‘upcoming player of the tournament’ whereas Shawn Araujo was declared the ‘best player of the tournament’.
Bhaskar Khandeparkar, chairman of G.V.M’s Group of Institutions, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Maj. Ghanshyam Singh (retired), Shawn Rodrigues, Technical In-charge; Naresh Gaunekar, Shamba Dessai, Sachin Sukhathankar, President of AASA among others.
Naresh Gaunekar and Shambha Dessai were felicitated by Antruz Art & Sports Academy for their valuable contribution in the field of Sports Journalism, Education & Youth Development.
A total of 20 teams participated in the tournament which was played on league-cum-knockout basis.
