PANAJI: Fatorda-based Don Bosco College of Engineering through its Department of Science & Humanities, will organise its annual web-series ‘Sci-Minds’ on 26th February 2022 at 10am. The topic of the webinar this year is ‘Innovations in Technology for Environment Sustainability’, states a press release.
The two prominent speakers, who will be delivering the sessions for the webinar, are
Dr. C. V. Rode, Scientist (Emeritus), Chemical Engineering & Process Development Division, CSIR–National Chemical Laboratory, Pune; and Dr. Rajeshkumar Shankar Hyam, Faculty from School of Physical and Applied Sciences, Goa University, Goa.
Dr. Rode will deliver a session on ‘Chemo- and bio-catalytic avenues for bio-refinery’. His talk will highlight his recent works in bio-refinery using renewable biomass feedstock for producing biofuels and chemicals. Bio-refinery is a step forward towards reducing dependency on crude oil and achieving environment sustainability.
Dr. RajeshKumar will deliver a session on ‘Nanomaterials for energy applications’. His talk will focus on the preparation of nanomaterials which are used to harness one of the most abundantly available renewable energy source – solar energy. He will also emphasise on the basic principle and working of DSSC (Dye sensitized solar cell) using nanomaterials for sustainable energy.
