Aarth Karapurkar and Jennica Sequeira won Parampujya Kalavati Aai All Goa U-13 Open and Girls state chess championship 2023 respectively.
The tournament was organised by Ponda Taluka Chess Association (P.T.C.A.) under the auspices of Goa Chess Association at Wagle High School, Mangeshi.
Arvind Mhamal was Chief Arbiter of the tournament. In all, 160 players participated in the tournament.
In the U-13 open category – Aaryavrat Desai, Aarav Chopdekar, Aniket Ekka, Vihaan Tari and Hriday Morajkar secured 2nd to 6th place respectively.
In the U-13 girls category – Vaishnavi Parab, Rachel Pereira, Diya Sawal, Saeeja Dessai and Shriya Patil secured 2nd to 6th place respectively.
The other positions age-group results are as follows:
Best U-11: Shubh Borkar, Erwin Albuquerque, Navya Narvekar and Asmi Terse
Best U-9: Joshua Telles, Shaurya Agrasani, Skyla Rodrigues and Diya Naik.
Best U-7: Prayank Gaonkar, Evan Telles, Sidonia Da cunha and Myra Mundhekar
Consolation prizes were awarded to Aiden Grao, J A Simplicio Viegas, Chaitanya Gaonkar, Atharva Sawal, Saras Powar, Rishit Gawas, Rudra Solyekar, Arush Naik, Swayam Naik, Chetan Kurtikar, Aarvi Naik, Israa Rikarty, Lyia Silveira, Shrusthi Shenvi, Aditi Kamat, Riddhi Gaude and Adya Patil.
The certificates and trophies were distributed by Chief Guest, Ashesh Keni (Secretary, Goa Chess Association), Sagar Sakordekar (President, P.T.C.A.), Amogh Namshiker (Secretary, P.T.C.A.), Pankaj Chavan (Project Chairman), Vishwas Pilankar ( Treasurer, Goa Chess Association), Satyawan Harmalkar (Vice-President, Goa Chess Association) and Chief Arbiter Arvind Mhamal.
