The apprenticeship initiative of the Goa Government came in for praise at the NDTV Indian of the Year 2023-24 award ceremony where the ‘Best Performing Small State’ award was presented to Goa. After receiving the award in a glittering ceremony, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant highlighted that the apprenticeship scheme has boosted the work culture in the State.
In fact, the apprenticeship scheme supported by the government undertakings as well as the private sector; went on to boost the broader goal of ‘skilling, reskilling and upskilling’, emphasised the Chief Minister in an interaction with NDTV.
The apprenticeship training scheme provided for people of different academic level to secure placement in various departments and private companies for designated stipends. Moreover, the Government also announced that the experience gained through Apprenticeship stint will be counted for ‘class C’ jobs.
