Eknath Kerkar top-scored with 38 runs
PANAJI: Goa scored an emphatic 37-run victory over Elite Group D leaders Rajasthan in BCCI Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 match at Holkar stadium, Indore on Sunday. This is Goa’s second victory in the tournament following the success against Services.
Winning his fourth consecutive toss in the competition, Amit Verma decided to bat for the first time. Wicket-keeper batsman Eknath Kerkar, who opened the innings, top-scored with 38 runs. Along with Aditya Kaushik (19), Eknath was a part of 39-run partnership for the first wicket. Suyash Prabhudessai made a quickfire 35 while captain Amit contributed 22 runs as Goa posted 154-7.
In reply, Rajasthan lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out 117 in 19.3 overs. Ashok Menaria with 24 runs was the highest run-getter for them. Goa bowlers did a great job with Vijesh Prabhudesai (3-28), Malik Shirur (2-15), Lakshay Garg (2-22) and Darshan Misal (1-15) stifling their rivals.
