PANAJI: ‘Bhatkanti,’ an autobiography written by Prof L Shridhar Bhat, was released at the hands of Adv Uday Bhembre. The 95-year old author narrates his lifelong journey from Goa to Karnataka at the age of 15 years and the social and personal struggles he went through in seeking education as well as his association with Mahatma Gandhi’s Hindi Prachar Sabha as well as RSS and Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Speaking as a chief guest, veteran writer and thinker from Goa; Adv Bhembre lauded the contribution of migrated Goans in Karnataka, may it be in the field of Kannada language and literature, industry, banking sector and even today’s information technology.
Also speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhushan Bhave said that the foundation of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was laid down in Karnataka and Kerala by Goans who migrated during Portuguese rule due to religious conversions, states a press release.
