The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Goa-IDC) held its 18th edition of the IDC-Connect programme at the Canacona Industrial Estate on June 16, 2023, to improve service delivery, redress grievances, and promote the implementation of various schemes for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The programme is in line with the vision of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant of ‘Seva, Sahayog and Swayampurna’, stated a press release.
More than 40 industrialists participated in the programme and interacted with the IDC officials and representatives of other departments. They raised issues such as repair works of overhead reservoir, pump house, streetlights, drains, and welcome gate. They also gave suggestions on tackling non-functional units, designing a new IDC portal, and streamlining the vacant plot advertising mechanism.
Pravimal Abhishek, Managing Director, Goa-IDC assured the industrialists that their feedback and grievances will be addressed on a priority basis. He also informed that the IDC will initiate immediate action against non-functional units and recover land for expansion of existing units or setting up new units. He urged the industrialists to collaborate with the IDC for the development of industrial estates and shed cynicism.
“IDC-Connect is our initiative to bring governance to the doorstep of the industrial estates. Our end goal is to create a conducive environment for industrial growth and investment in Goa and showcase its potential and opportunities as an ideal destination for industrial development. The Canacona connect was a successful event where we interacted with industrialists and addressed their issues and suggestions,” said Pravimal Abhishek, Managing Director, Goa-IDC.
As part of the programme, a field visit was conducted along with the industrialists to inspect the existing infrastructure and identify the areas that need repair works. The IDC-Connect programme is expected to boost the industrial growth and investment climate in Goa by creating a conducive environment for existing and prospective entrepreneurs.
