The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC)-Goa, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will organise a two-day photo exhibition in commemoration of the Silver Jubliee of Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th & 27th July at Azad Maidan-Panaji.
The photo exhibition will be inaugurated by Lt General Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM, VSM, Director General, NCC at 10:45 AM on July 26, 2024. The photo exhibition will feature a curated collection of photographs depicting various aspects of the Kargil War, including heroic actions of our soldiers, poignant moments of camaraderie, and scenes from the battlefield.
These images serve not only as a tribute to the brave hearts who defended our nation’s sovereignty but also as a means to educate and inspire visitors about this pivotal chapter in our history.
Apart from commemoration, the exhibition will provide an opportunity for visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced and victories achieved during the Kargil War. It also aims to foster a sense of national pride and appreciation for the sacrifices of our soldiers among the younger generation.
The entry to the exhibition is free for all visitors and it will remain open from 10 am to 7 pm. Col. Jesus Furtado, Commanding Officer, 1 Goa Battalion NCC Panaji; Nana Meshram, Director, PIB Panaji; Kargil War Veterans Lt Col Austin Collaco (Rtd) and Captain Utpal Dutta (Rtd) will also be present at the inaugural event.
The inaugural day will also have an event at Conference Hall of the Institute of Menezes Braganza, Panaji, at 11.00 AM that features a guest lecture by Lt Col Austin Collaco, a Kargil War Veteran, performance by NCC cadets & cultural troupes showcasing the sacrifice of our great heroes of the war.
