DAYANAND HIGH SCHOOL EMERGE CHAMPIONS AT 7-A-SIDE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Dayanand High School beat St. Bartholomew’s High School by a solitary goal in the final to win the 7-a-Side Football League Tournament organised by Chodan Super School Complex (CSSC) for its member schools.

Headed by Raghuvir and Premavati Salkar Higher Secondary School, Chorao; the CSSC Football tournament witnessed a close contest in the final with the winning goal coming in the form off a penalty kick.

St. Aloysius High School, Divar, claimed third place; while Our Lady of Divar High School, Divar, secured fourth position.

The tournament was held at Saude Ground, Chorao, under the guidance of Physical Education teacher Jaganath Ghatwal on 2nd August.

The event was graced by Soniya Vaibhav Salkar as the Chief Guest and Geeta Pramod Salkar as the Guest of Honour. In her address, Soniya emphasised that football is more than just a game of winning or losing; it is a sport that instills discipline among players.

Geeta encouraged students to actively participate in sports as a means of achieving holistic development.

Also present on the occasion were Premanand Mahambare, President of the Chorao Educational Society, and Sandeep Sawal, Principal; and both spoke on the importance of sports in students’ life.

The prize distribution ceremony was compered by teacher Luiza Pereira, who also delivered the vote of thanks.
