Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) will operate from it’s newly-inaugurated office at the New Market Complex-Porvorim, North Goa.
The office was inaugurated on Monday in the presence of Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS; State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Guruprasad Pawaskar; Director of DEPwD Meghana Shetgaonkar and others.
DEPwD will deal with all schemes and matters related to Persons with Disabilities with the exception of DSS scheme and matters related to Special Schools.
The development is viewed as encouraging towards providing speedy resolution to issues of Persons with Disabilities in general that otherwise had to be taken up at the Department of Social Welfare.
