Minister for Health, Vishwajit Rane, distributed state-of-the-art digital programmable hearing aids to beneficiaries as part of an initiative of the Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Cell of the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) under National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness.
The DHS collaborated with Dmello Telepower Pvt. Ltd., a key Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partner. These hearing aids, supplied by Oticon (Denmark), will be made available to eligible beneficiaries across both the District Hospitals in Goa.
As a part of the initiative, comprehensive training has been provided to ENT Surgeons and Audiologists from Goa Medical College and both District Hospitals, ensuring effective implementation and optimal care for all beneficiaries.
“The wellbeing of the elderly has always been a focal point of our various healthcare initiatives. We are pleased to announce the availability of 290 digital programmable hearing aids for eligible beneficiaries at North Goa and South Goa District Hospitals. This initiative will significantly improve the lives of elderly Goans by providing advanced hearing assistance technology, offering enhanced clarity and adaptability to different sound environments,” asserted the Health Minister.
