Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao, beat M.E.S Vasant Joshi College of Arts & Commerce, Zuarinagar, by eight wickets to win the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Women’s Cricket Championship 2023-24.
In the final at Goa University Cricket Ground, Taleigao, M.E.S won the toss and elected to bat. Riding on the knocks of Harshada Kadam: 30(32) and Anisha Harmalkar 21(32), MES posted 124 all out in 19.5 overs.
Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College bowlers Urvashi Govekar (3/25), Samiksha Raul (1/19) and Metali Gawander (1/21) did a good job with the ball.
In their chase, Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College cruised to 125/2 in 12.5 overs. Tanaya Naik: 57(37) not out, Metali Gawander 33(21) and Urvashi Govekar 20(18) did the bulk of the scoring. Pooja Yadav (1/34) and Shruti Dodamani (1/14) were the wicket-takers for MES.
Sandhya Nevrekar, Assistant-Registrar, Purchase Section, Goa University, was the Chief Guest for the presentation ceremony and gave away the prizes along with Dr. Shailendra R. Gaonkar, Assistant Sports Officer, Goa University.
