Punjab FC and Jharkhand registered contrasting win in the boys and girls final respectively at the Dream Sports Championship Football 2025 (National Finals) at the specially-floodlit Raia football ground on Tuesday night.

Punjab retained the trophy with a convincing 2-0 victory over Mohun Bagan Super Giant in a dominant display.

In a very fast-paced game, Punjab took an early lead through Subham Gurung in just the 10th minute of play, before doubling their advantage in the second half when defender Ashish Lohar struck in the 64th minute, effectively sealing the championship for his team.

The Punjab boys displayed tremendous strength, stamina and energy throughout the 90 mins and were clearly the better team this evening.

Earlier, Jharkhand got the better of Odisha 1-0 to top the girls competition.

Anamika Sanga proved to be the hero for Jharkhand, scoring the match’s only goal in the 20th minute. Despite Odisha’s best efforts to equalise, Jharkhand’s defence, led by skipper Chandani Kumari held firm to the end.

Former India captain Bhaichung Bhutia and ex-India International goalkeeper Subrata Paul were the chief guest for the evening. While interacting with the media, former striker Bhutia commended Dream Sports Foundation for their initiative. He also hailed the collaboration of his Bhaichung Bhutia Football School with DSF for producing national players.
