DSYA: THE KING’S SCHOOL TOP U-14 GIRLS FOOTBALL WITHOUT CONCEDING A GOAL

The King’s School, Sao Jose de Areal, has won the under-14 girls state-level inter-school football tournament 2023 organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs. In the final, The King’s School beat Our Lady of Rosary High School, Dona Paula, 5-0 at Dramapur Ground.

In a historic feat, The King’s School managed to guard their goal superbly and did not concede a single goal throughout the tournament, becoming the South Goa District and Salcete taluka champions before lifting the State title.

The King’s School started on a fine note against Our Lady of Rosary High School and took the lead through Neha Verlekar  off an assist from Valaina Fernandes, inside three minutes.

In the second half, The King’s School girls dominated the proceedings with Analee D’Costa providing the second goal of the match off an assist from Valaina Fernandes.

Valaina Fernandes fed by Neha Verlekar, then scored a brilliant goal to take her team up 3-0. Analee D’Costa made it 4-0 with an assist from Vania Rodrigues.

Valaina also got her second goal to complete a fine 5-0 victory for The King’s School. This time, the assist came via Neha Verlekar.
