GOA GETS TWO NEW INTERNATIONAL CHESS ARBITERS IN RIDIKESH & SUDHAKAR

Ridikesh Dilip Vernekar of Salcete and Sudhakar Patgar of Canocana successfully completed the Senior National Chess Arbiter Examination.

Ridikesh Dilip Vernekar of Salcete passed with an ‘A’ grade while Sudhakar Patgar of Canocana passed with a ‘B’ grade. The Senior National Chess Arbiter Examination was conducted by All India Chess Federation in Pune and Mumbai.

In Pune, the seminar cum examination was conducted by IA, FL Dharmender Kumar, and in Mumbai by IA Swapnil Bansod.

Ridikesh Vernekar and Sudhakar Patgar are now both qualified to act as Arbiter in FIDE-recognised International Rating Chess Tournaments.

Ridikesh recently represented Goa in the National amateur chess championship that was held in Punjab. At present, he is pursuing Information Technology course (third year) at Goa Engineering College.

Sudhakar Patgar is currently coaching the young chess players in Goa and also assisting Chief Arbiters in the tournaments held in the state.

Goa Chess Ad-hoc chess committee congratulated Ridikesh Vernekar and Sudhakar Patgar for passing the Arbiter examination and wishes them all the very best in the future, states a press release.
