Directed by: Nuri Bilge Ceylan
Duration: 2 hours 32 minutes
Director Nuri Bilge Ceylan has made a name for himself not just in Turkish cinema but on the world stage as well. He won the prestigious Palm d’Or in 2014 for Winter Sleep, and this film won the Grand Prix and over 20 awards at various festivals. Moving at its own steady pace, the exquisitely shot film has a hypnotic charm about it. The story, on the surface of it, is about investigators in search of a dead body on the Anatolian steppes but gradually, it reveals more about the different characters.
