Youth and students across Goa will get an opportunity to participate in a virtual interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 27, as part of the activities leading up to the National Sports Day 2026.
MY Bharat Goa, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with NSS Goa State, will organise the Prime Minister’s Virtual Interaction Programme at four educational institutions across the state.
The programme will be held at St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, and Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim, in North Goa, while Rosary College of Arts and Commerce, Navelim, and Shri Gopal Gaonkar Memorial Goa Multi-Faculty College will host the programme in South Goa.
Students, NSS volunteers and youth from the identified institutions will participate in the programme. National-level sportspersons will also be part of the interaction, providing young participants an opportunity to draw inspiration from accomplished athletes and understand the importance of discipline, dedication, perseverance and fitness.
The programme is aimed at encouraging greater participation of young people in sports and promoting physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, discipline and an active way of life. It is being organised in the run-up to National Sports Day, observed annually on August 29 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, one of India’s legendary hockey players.
MY Bharat Goa and NSS Goa State are coordinating with educational institutions and other stakeholders to facilitate wider participation of youth and ensure the smooth conduct of the virtual interaction programme.
