Grandmaster Saptarshi Roy Chodhury of Railways Sports promotion Board won the 2nd edition of Late Shri Vasudeva V Dempo Memorial Fide Rating Chess Tournament 2024, organised by Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association in Panaji. He scored 7.5 points and was tied for the top position with Rupam Mukharjee of West Bengal. However, due to a better tie-break score, GM Saptarshi was declared the winner. Rupam with 7.5 points, emerged runner-up.
IM Abhishek Kelkar of Maharashtra finished third with 7 points.
