Joshua Telles and Muriel Fernandes won theLate Ramesh D Pinge Memorial Goa State U-11 Open & Girls Chess Championship/Selection tournament 2025 in the Open & Girls category respectively. The tournament was organised by Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association at Mahalaxmi Vachan Mandir Hall, Mala-Panaji .
Joshua scored 6.5 points out of 7 rounds while Muriel scored 6 points out of 7 points. In the Open Category, Aaryavrat Naik Desai with 6 points was declared the 1st runner-up while Vihaan Tari with 5.5 points finished as the 2nd runner-up.
In the Girls Category, Skyla Rodrigues with 5.5 points emerged the 1st runner-up while Diya Naik 5.5 points finished as the 2nd runner-up.
Other Prize-winners in Open Category are as follows: Shresth Ghonsekar, Siddhanth Naik, Rishit Gawas, Narayan Prabhu Dessai, Shaurya Agrasani, Atharv Ghatwal, Evan Telles. Other Prize-winners in the Girls Category are as follows: Samrithi Malkar, Krutika Aggarwal, Sanvi Redkar, Avani Sawaikar, Drisha Ghonge and Tvisha Dessai.
Category Prize-winners in Open & Girls ( U7, U9, Tiswadi) : Aarush Shet Tanavade, Vivaan Kadam, Rejmon Fernandes, Sanio Silveira, Sudheer Kumar , Shubhan Dhume , Aaradhya Dessai, Yajwari Shetye, Dacunha Sidonia, Shreesha Ghadi, Vania Dukle, Shravani Naik.
Two selected players in each category will participate at the U11 Nationals to be held at Nasik in August 2025.
Meanwhile, National U7 Gold-Medallist Evan Telles was feliciated by Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association.
