PANAJI: An unique Dussehra celebration was witnessed by the young trainees at the Panaji RCC Centre; as Goa Badminton Association (GBA) in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) organised an exhibition match between two of Goa’s star players – India International shuttler Anura Prabhu Desai and Goa state-ranked player Ayaan Shaikh at Indoor stadium Campal, here on Friday.
“We had an afternoon / evening session which was a learning experience for the trainees, watching the senior star players demonstrate a wide range of strokes over an engaging 3-set match. This was not the usual Navratri / Dandiya celebration, but something uniquely different. Fitness session by SAG coach Iftikhar Shaikh, motivational talk, exhibition matches and much more added to the excitement for the young trainees,” stated GBA Secretary Sandeep Heble highlighting the significance of the event.
“From November onwards, our tournament activities will commence, we have a busy calendar of events ahead and players are super-excited about it,” Heble added in a press release.
