GOA COACH DODDA GANESH TAKES ILL, VETERAN PACER ASHOKE DINDA RETIRES

PANAJI: Goa will be without the services of coach Dodda Ganesh and veteran India pacer Ashoke Dinda due to illness and injury-enforced-retirement respectively, for the upcoming BCCI one-dayers tournament for Vijay Hazare Trophy.

According to a Goa Cricket Association (GCA) press communique, former India pacer D Ganesh has informed that he will not be able to render his services for the upcoming one-day tournament ‘due to some illness which he developed suddenly!’

Dinda, who had joined Goa at the beginning of the delayed 2020-21 season and featured in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 competition, has retired; informed GCA.

“Ashoke Dinda  told us that he will be unavailable due to injury which he developed during Mushtaq Ali tournament in Indore which later worsened  and also he announced his retirement,” added the emailed press release.

“We thank Doda Ganesh and Ashoke Dinda for their contribution to Goa cricket and wish them  speedy recovery,” stated Suraj Lotlikar, GCA President.
