Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai has so far disbursed a total of Rs 2.75 Crores as financial assistance to 1005 dialysis/cancer/other patients. He would also be handing over Rs 96 lakh as financial assistance to 384 patients comprising 100 dialysis patients and 284 cancer patients, informed a press communique issued by Raj Bhavan.
The press release stated that the Governor has fulfilled the promise regarding disbursement of financial assistance from his Excellency’s Funds surpassing the targets.
“From the day, PS Sreedharan Pillai took over as the Governor of Goa; he decided to help the needy deprived and underprivileged section of the society to reach out to the people of Goa.”
GOVERNOR’S 3 BOOKS TO BE RELEASED TODAY
Written by the Governor, PS Sreedharan Pillai – Coffee Table book ‘Heritage Trees of Goa’ in English; ‘When Parallel Lines Meet’ (English) and ‘Ente Priya Kavitakal’ (Malayalam poems) will be released later today.
According to a press communique issued by Raj Bhavan, “PS Sreedharan Pillai compiled the information about the ‘Heritage Trees of Goa’ during the tours to different parts of Goa. The said book will help tourism in Goa and tourists all over the world who are desirous to know the flora and fauna of Goa.
“In Goan villages, important trees stand tall, towering as landmarks. Goa Raj Bhavan is taking up this new initiative for calling the attention of the people including tourists towards Heritage Trees of Goa’. Various historical, spiritual and religious old trees are located across the length and breadth of Goa.”
