Goa is on a high growth lane in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of rural India with increase in rural consumption, stated Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant after unveiling a groundbreaking report by Goa Livelihoods Forum (GLF).
The GLF report showcases Goa’s exceptional progress in rural empowerment. With women-led Self-Help Groups at the forefront, the state is achieving economic resilience through alternative income streams; self-sufficiency among rural households; and sustainable growth via Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme
(SVEP) and Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME).
“This paradigm shift in Goa’s rural economy reflect PMO India’s vision for a self-reliant rural India. Together, we are bridging the urban-rural divide,” emphasised the Chief Minister.
