‘GOA RANKS 5TH IN INDIA TO PRIORITISE PALLIATIVE CARE SERVICES’

Goa with its ‘State-level Palliative Care Policy’, ranks as the fifth state in India to prioritise palliative care services, claimed  Health Minister Vishwajit Rane in his social media post.

In what happens to be a significant stride in healthcare,  the State-level Palliative Care Policy is a collaborative effort between the Directorate of Health Services and Goa Medical College & Hospital.

Alongside this development, a national toll-free palliative care helpline, “Saath Saath,” has been launched recently. By dialing 1800-202-7777, individuals can access vital information about palliative care and connect with nearby centres, offering essential support to patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers alike.
