GOA TOURISM TO HOST VIBRANT GOA HERITAGE FESTIVAL 2023

Hosted by the state’s Department of Tourism, the three-day extravaganza promises to captivate visitors with its array of enchanting performances, culinary delights, exhibitions, and much more. The event will be held from April 28 to April 30, 2023, in the picturesque Saligao village in North Goa.

The festival, which aims to promote cultural tourism and celebrate Goa’s artistic legacy, will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant.

Joining him will be Shripad Naik, Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Govt. Of India; Rohan Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Printing & Stationery, among others.

One of the highlights of the festival is its diverse range of performances that will showcase the multifaceted cultural traditions of the state. Attendees will be treated to captivating dance performances; heritage walks and musical shows that delve into Goa’s historical roots. Moreover, visitors will have the opportunity to indulge their taste buds with culinary delights that reflect the unique flavours of Goa, giving them a true essence of the state’s gastronomic heritage.

“The visitors can experience the true essence of Goa with a Goan Games Gallery, Pottery Demonstration, Workshops on Goan Drama, Theatre, Special Talks by leading experts on related Topics, Screening of Marathi and Konkani Films, and Exhibition of Marathi-Konkani Books,” said a representative of the Department of Tourism.

Renowned distiller Pedro Vaz will captivate the attendees at the Festival with a demonstration on cashew feni manufacturing. Additionally, pottery demonstrations and workshops on Goan drama and theatre will provide insights into the state’s rich artistic traditions and history. Special talks by renowned experts on relevant topics will further enhance visitors’ understanding of Goa’s cultural tapestry.

Film enthusiasts will have the opportunity to enjoy screenings of Marathi and Konkani films, while literature lovers can explore the exhibition of Marathi-Konkani books, where the written word encapsulates the spirit and ethos of the Goan heritage.

In addition to the cultural festivities, a craft bazaar will be set up, providing a platform for local businesses to display and sell Goa’s diverse handicrafts, art, and traditional products.
