PANAJI: After a coaching stint at Raipur-Chhattisgarh’s MS Dhoni Cricket Academy, Goa’s legendary cricketing personality Hemant Angle is now set for a new challenge at Amigos Sports Academy (ASA) in Panipat-Haryana with a contract of three years at Varun Jain’s ambitious project.
Former Vice-Captain of Goa Ranji Trophy team and a veteran of cricket coaching department under Sports Authority of Goa for over 30 years, Angle, who also runs a club Margao Cricket Academy, is a certified NIS, NCA (Level 1) and ICC (Level 2) Coach. He has a coaching book ‘Learn to Play Cricket’ approved by the iconic MCC (England), to his credit.
Speaking to livenewsgoa.com, the Margao-based coach revealed that he was impressed with ASA’s cricket infrastructure and hopes the coming year will provide great cricket after the pandemic led to a major disruption in 2020.
At Amigos, Angle would be coaching around “100 students with 5 coaches as assistants, with the academy being equipped with all modern amenities including a speed gun. It has indoor as well as a full-fledged ground for matches,” stated a press note.
