Goan Kaavi artist Sagar Naik Mule has joined the Government of India’s outreach campaign for First Time Voters, ‘Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye’. The artist created a Kaavi artwork encouraging first time voters to cast their vote, on a canvas with autographs of eminent personalities from across the country. Kaavi art comprises of the bright red found in Goa’s laterite soil expertly infused with mixed media to bring to life diverse themes.
The autographs belong to various personalities who were mentioned by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ addresses.
Sagar Naik Mule himself was invited to an event in Delhi, commemorating 100 episodes of Mann Ki Baat. It is here that the artist obtained autographs of all invitees, many of who are Padma Awardees. The artist was saving the autographed canvas for a special occasion and chose to use it to encourage youth to be active partners in nation-building by casting their votes in the upcoming elections.
The popular artist has dedicated the artwork to the nation and describes it as ‘being from earth of the nation for the progress of the nation.’
