GOAN TOFFEES ‘TARVOTI’ ON A VOYAGE THROUGH OCEAN OF LOVE

1

Goan brand ‘Tarvoti’ is getting a lot of love for their high-quality toffees and a distinct  marketing style online and offline.

The ‘Tarvoti’ outlet at the just-concluded Goa Cashew Fest 2025; saw a host of politicians, industry leaders, tourists and visitors from the state visit the stall and strike a conversation with cheerful owner couple Hirendra and Preethi Dhekne, before buying the exquisite toffees that include cashews and almonds among the range of products.

Hirendra, himself a tarvoti (sailor), is the live mascot! Wearing the unmissable sailor cap, the Vasco-based Marine Engineer-turned-entrepreneur is full of passion for his new venture that was launched in February 2023.

The manufacturing company named Arya Foods, which was initiated by Preethi Dhekne, is based in Mormugao taluka.

Moreover with this initiative, Preethi converted her own home-made sweet treat into a product manufactured on a commercial scale – a dream most women harbour but a very few persevere till fruition!

“Our vision is to take this most loved ‘Made in Goa’ product to the rest of India. The voyage has just begun…,” emphaises the couple as they sell one of their wonderful product of Almond toffees to my daughter.
