Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has emphasised on the need to reuse the treated household waste-water for various domestic and commercial purposes.
The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating the state-of-the-art 7.5 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant at Colva.
“I urge all residents and households to connect to the sewage treatment system. Treating household wastewater will not only ensure its safe management but also enable its reuse for various domestic and commercial purposes, contributing to a cleaner and greener Goa,” appealed Dr Sawant.
This significant project has been built at a cost of Rs 55 Crore. “I am proud to share that Goa is the first state in India to establish dedicated facilities for Solid Waste, Sewage Waste, Hazardous Waste, and Chemical Waste treatment. This achievement underscores the Government of Goa’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development and the holistic progress of the state,” added the Chief Minister.
Also present at the inaugural was Law & Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira, MLA Venzy Viegas and ZP Vania Tista among others.
