Government College of Commerce and Economics, Borda-Margao, has been assessed by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru, and awarded an ‘A’ Grade with a CGPA Score of 3.12. The College had applied for the first NAAC Cycle, states a press release.
The NAAC Peer Team comprising Prof. Seetharama Rao Kusumba, former Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Telangana (Chairperson); Dr. Sudhansu Sekhar Mahapatra, Professor, Department of Commerce, Sikkim University(Member Co-ordinator) and Dr. Anant B. Marathe, Retd. Principal, HVPMs College of Engineering and Technology, Amravati-Maharashtra; visited the College on 2nd and 3rd of February, 2023.
Government College of Commerce and Economics, Borda, has been instrumental in incorporating ICT in the teaching-learning process. All classrooms in the college are smart classrooms. The emphasis of the institution is on outcome-based education. Several smart initiatives have also been introduced – a smart navigation system, smart digital garden, vertical garden all of which initiatives are based on a QR Coding system. The college has also installed Atmospheric Water Generators on all floors, which convert moisture into potable water. The college intends becoming a green role model for other educational institutions in Goa.
