Health Minister Vishwajit Rane flagged off two Air-conditioned Blood Transportation-cum-Collection Vans in the presence of Director of Health Services, Dr. Geeta Kakodkar at Althino on Wednesday.
The mobile units equipped with state-of-the-art technology will be in service at both North and South Goa District Hospitals, informed Rane.
“This initiative eliminates the need for complex setups at previous donation camps, simplifying the process for both staff and donors. The vans even allow two donors to contribute simultaneously, further enhancing efficiency,” added Rane in his social media post.
The new vehicles, which are part of the NRHM program; are said to be designed for simplicity, making it easier for both donors and staff to donate and store the blood. “We’re committed to citizens’ well-being and constantly making improvements in the healthcare facilities and infrastructure. These mobile banks are one step towards making treatment convenient & accessible, making #TheGoaModel a shining example for other states,” stressed the Health Minister in his post on X.
