PANAJI: National Organization for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE-India), Indian Medical Association (IMA) Bicholim,GOKARMA Oncology Association in collaboration with Goa Police; organised a symposium on Cancer, Menstrual Hygiene, Diet and Lifestyle on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March.
The programme was presided by Indradev Shukla, DGP, IPS in the presence of Rajesh Kumar, IGP, IPS, Paramaditya, DIG, SP Shobit IPS, SP Abhishek IPS, SP Nidhin Walson with lady officers and lady staff of Police Headquarters Panaji; states a press release.
Police inspector Anushka Atul Pai Bir welcomed the gathering to mark the International Women’s Day. Dr Medha Salkar welcomed on behalf of IMA Bicholim.
Dr Shekhar Salkar gave a presentation on cancer and women’s perspective while he stressed on the importance of early detection and importance of breast self-examination. Dr Medha Salkar while explaining the importance of hygiene during menstruation, sensitised the lady participants on various aspects of health, diet and how to handle stress at the work-place.
Indradev Shukla, DGP expressed happiness on undertaking such information and awareness symposium on event of Women’s Day and congratulated all women for achieving new heights in society.
In adherence to the Covid protocols, the programme was physically attended by 35 lady police officers and was live-streamed to 43 police stations across Goa.
